New Act on citizenship cessation

"Amends the: Australian Citizenship Act 2007 to: replace the current arrangements, whereby a person’s Australian citizenship automatically ceases through certain conduct, with a discretion for the Minister for Home Affairs to determine that a person who is a national or citizen of a country other than Australia ceases to be an Australian citizen if they have: engaged in specified terrorism-related conduct; fought for, or been in the service of, a declared terrorist organisation outside Australia; or engaged in conduct that results in a conviction for a specified terrorism offence..."

New arrangements Work & Holiday (sub 462)

"The purpose of the instrument is to update the following requirements in relation to applications for Work and Holiday (Temporary) (Class US) visas (Class US visas): the list of countries where an applicant is exempt from providing evidence of home government support; the education requirements for applicants from various countries; and the place and manner for making an application".

Citizenship: special residence requirement

"The purpose of the instrument is to specify: activities for subparagraph 22A(1)(a)(i) of the Act, organisations for paragraph 22A(1)(b) of the Act, and kinds of work for paragraph 22B(1)(a) of the [Citizenship] Act."

Subclass 600: form, place & manner of application

"The purpose of the instrument is to amend the approved form, place and manner (the arrangements) for making an application for a Visitor (Class FA) visa in the Tourist stream (Tourist stream visa) in Australia"

Work and holiday (sub 462): new countries

Among other things, the new instrument specifies 2 new countries as eligible for visa subclass 462
