New Direction No 82 replaces Direction No 77: 'the Government considers that [Sponsors awarded Accredited Status] should be able to access streamlined processing arrangements and their applications should be allocated to a decision-maker for initial assessment as a priority'
Direction No 81: order of consideration of skilled visas
New Direction No 81 (Order of Consideration – Certain Skilled Migration Visas): replaces Direction No 74; sets the order of processing of applications for visa subclasses 189, 190, 489, 186 and 187; sets the order of processing of nomination applications for visa subclasses 186 and 187
SkillSelect: 11 April 2019 invitation round
Number of invitations reduced drastically from 1,500 to 110; invitation threshold raised from to 75 to 80 points for visa subclass 189 and threshold for visa subclass 489 remained the same at 80 points
Subclass 870 (Parent): sponsorship application issues
With respect, we have identified 8 issues in the sponsorship application form, which does not accurately reflect the new legislation in some aspects and might lead to unwarranted sponsorship refusals; given the success of our webinars on this new parent visa, we will be running those CPD webinars again
New parent visa sponsorship fee
According to the new Migration (LIN 19/147: Arrangements for Sponsorship for Temporary Sponsored Parent Visa) Instrument 2019, the sponsorship application fee for the new parent visa (subclass 870) will be $420
