Subclass 494: nomination validity not 6 months

The new Subclass 494 (Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional)) visa will "replace" subclass 187 in November 2019. Whilst nominations are valid for 6 months for subclass 187, the validity period of subclass 494 nominations will be very different.

The validity of a nomination approved for the purposes of visa subclass 187 is set out in Schedule 2 of the Migration Regulations 1994 (Cth), as follows:

(6)  The application for the visa is made no more than 6 months after the Minister approved the nomination.
